NUNZIO DELLO IACOVO
graduated with honors from the S. Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, he continued his studies with pianists J.B. Pommier and P. Badura Skoda, and perfected them with M° S. Perticaroli at “Mozartemum” Sommer Akademie in Salzburg. He was also scholarship awarded to a three years specialization course at “S. Cecilia” National Academy in Rome and graduated with the maximum score.
After being several times nationally and internationally awarded, when he was twenty-one, he debuted abroad with a tour in Germany, that began in the prestigious theatre Misikhalle in Hamburg and continued in many important theatres of the country. The tour drew the attention of the national press.
In Italy he has played for many prestigious musical Institutions, such as “La Fenice” Foundation, to mention just one, which sponsored the pianist’s concerts, conferences and piano performances in Venice.
For sixteen years he has featured the accomplished composer Luciano Sampaoli; this collaboration has given birth to an intense production of works, concerts, conferences and discography.
The cd “ Fly high, Word!”, with music by L. Sampaoli and lyrics by the poet Mario Luzi, was distributed in Italy by the newspaper “L’Unità” in 2006.
In 2010 Nunzio toured throughout Italy performing the show entitled “From Chopin to Chopin”, whose texts, written for the bicentenary from the great composer’s birth, are by Rossana Fiorini. The Show is patronized by important entities and Institutions such as the Polish Institute in Rome, Unesco’s project “Chopin 2010”, the General Polish Consulate in Italy of Milan, Mia from Bergamo Foundation, etc.
Nunzio is currently professor of piano at the “N.Rota” Conservatory in Monopoli, Italy.
